55ip has enhanced its partnership with BlackRock to include an expanded suite of model families within its tax-smart investment strategy engine. The new offerings include the BlackRock Global Allocation Selects (“GA Selects”) Managed Models, which offer dynamic risk-managed investment solutions that are reactive to market conditions.
BlackRock and 55ip first announced their partnership in Dec. 2019, and the firms aligned to provide advisors with access to a scalable solution that can be deployed for both qualified and non-qualified accounts. GA Selects is a model platform that was first introduced in July 2017.
Managed by BlackRock’s Global Allocation Team, the models are risk-managed, flexible and disciplined with access to an innovative blended model. GA Selects relies on team-affiliated mutual funds managed by Rick Rieder, Chief Investment Officer of Global Fixed Income and Head of the Global Allocation Team at BlackRock, and also feature an open-architecture universe of index and factor exchange-traded funds (ETFs), which maximizes the opportunity to express its investment views.
Advisors on the 55ip platform will be able to leverage GA Selects across multiple leading custodial platforms. They will benefit from the convenience of outsourced implementation, while gaining access to 55ip’s ActiveTax Technology®, allowing them to more effectively migrate clients’ taxable accounts and drive more positive after-tax outcomes through systematic, ongoing tax-loss harvesting.
